Where does one even begin this blog? I want to first acknowledge our first pregnancy and baby. Because of this first experience every day I have to wake up and remind myself that I am pregnant today. As Dr. Allen says, "This will be a perfectly normal, boring pregnancy".
On February 19th I woke up for work and as I was walking down the stairs my boobs were aching. I took a cheap home pregnancy test and instantly both lines appeared. I'm pregnant!
That night my bowling league "Girls Night Out" started and I was the only one not indulging in the pitchers.
On Tuesday February 24th Dr. Allen confirmed the pregnancy (6 weeks) and set my due date as October 19th.
Ray & I went back four weeks later (today) and Dr. Allen's medical student Sam brought relief to both of us when he found the baby's heart beat right away. I begged Dr. Allen for an ultra sound but he said there was no reason for him to believe anything was wrong and I would have to wait until 18 weeks.
Ray & I will tell a few close friends now but are waiting to alert the family of our big news when we see Dale & Shari on April 15th (13 weeks/2 days) in person in Cincinnati to celebrate Travis' birthday.
Can't wait!
